About the event
This is a non-profit event. We will be raising money for womenforwomen.org, an organisation that helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives.
Spring Equinox is a potent time for planting news seeds or tending to those that were planted at the beginning of the year. It is a time for welcoming in the light of spring, and for integrating in gratitude all the experiences and lessons that were felt during the darker days of winter, and shedding with love and tenderness those layers of being which no longer fits our new selves, in this new season, at this present time. It is time to awaken, time to evolve into this new paradigm that awaits us.
You will be welcomed in with soup and teas, and an orientation of the facilities and spaces for your use during your stay.
There are two break-out rooms should you need them during the night; the Saloon where there are couches, tables and chairs with a kitchen where you can help yourself to teas and toilet, and the dormitory with 8 beds with a 3-shower and 3-toilet block.
We will gather for an opening ceremony in the studio, where we will share with you the programme, a ritual for setting our intentions, and meditation before setting out our beds and settling in for the evening.
An all night sound bath is deeply healing and transformational, the sound vibrations will go deep into your being, working through layers on a cellular, subconscious and soul level. If anything should arise for you there will be someone available should you need that extra support during the night.
We will then be stirred gently from sleep with the heavenly sound of the harp and the sweet sounds of bird song at dawn. In silence we shall sit together and integrate our journey of the night, as we bathe in light rays of the early morning sun. We will then take time to journal and enjoy I mindful walk around the gardens, grounding our experience and coming back to our physicality and being. We will share in meditation and optional sharing of voicing our experiences to each other in a closing circle. Breakfast will be available, and feeling prepared and ready for the outside and the rest of our day, we will then say our goodbyes and make our departures.
We recommend having nothing planned for the rest of the day so you can relax and continue to integrate your experience.
TICKET PRICES EXPLAINED…The are six tiers based on what you would like to/able to contribute.
Who are we raising money for?
All proceeds are going towards women survivors of war, with over 50 brutal armed conflicts across the globe, there’s never been a greater need to support women survivors of war. By buying a ticket to this event you will be helping a sister graduate from a year-long programme with womenforwomen.org, giving them the skills and resources they need to rebuild their lives. Their family and friends will feel the ripple effect of their training and empowerment. They will pass on their knowledge to their community. What our Sisters will learn from being on this course? …
EARN AND SAVE MONEYYour sisters will learn a vocational skill that’s proven to earn an income in her local market, such as tailoring, brick making or agriculture. They will also learn business skills like book-keeping and budgeting, to help them use this vocational skill to earn money to support their families. In 2018, participants almost tripled their average daily income.
RIGHTSWomen have fundamental rights: to vote, to own land, to divorce, and to inherit property. Your sisters will gain knowledge of her rights, as well as learning about gender equality and laws that protect her from violence and discrimination. In 2018, women’s knowledge of their rights increased from 62% at enrolment to 77% at graduation.
HEALTH & WELLBEINGWomen cannot be active members of their communities if they are not physically and mentally well. Your sister will learn about topics including hygiene and disease prevention, family planning, coping with stress and the importance of nutrition for herself and her family. Last year on average, women’s involvement in decisions about whether to have another child increased from 47% at enrolment to 84% at graduation.
SUPPORT NETWORKSWar and conflict leave women deeply isolated, feeling unsafe to leave their homes and without a safe place to meet other women who have experienced the horrors of war. Your sisters will join a class of 24 other women like them. She will make friends, regain her confidence and build a support system. Over the course of the year, your sisters will also receive support from friends that she has never met – us!
YOU WILL RECEIVE…(optional via private facebook group)
QUARTERLY UPDATESAs your sisters proceed through the training programme, we will post quarterly updates via our private facebook group page about their progress and what they have been learning.
